Sweepstakes Rules:
1. To enter:
No Purchase, pledge or donation necessary to enter or to win. All federal, state, local and municipal laws and regulations apply. The sweepstakes is void where prohibited.
2. To play:
Enter by completing the official entry form online at www.afrcresorts.com or by mailing a 3” x 5” postcard with your name, address, telephone number and email address to Great Getaways, PO BOX 150304, Alexandria, VA 22315. The Great Getaways Sweepstakes will begin on March 1, 2009. Entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. est. on the following dates for the monthly sweepstake drawing; March 31, 2009, April 30, 2009 and May 31, 2009. Only one entry per day; no entries generated by mechanical reproduction will be accepted. Monthly prizes will be awarded from the entries submitted for current month only. The grand prize drawing will be from all eligible entries received throughout the duration of the sweepstakes. The Family and Morale Welfare and Recreation Command (FMWRC) will not be responsible for incomplete, illegible, or lost entries or for failure to receive entries due to technical failures of any kind, including without limitation, postal error. FMWRC reserves the right to disqualify any entries submitted by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of this Sweepstakes.
3. Eligibility:
The Great Getaways Sweepstakes is open only to current Active Duty Service Members from all branches of Service, Reserve, and National Guard members, Retirees, Military Service Members (Active Duty, Retiree, Reserve and National Guard) family members and DoD civilians. All participants must be eighteen years or older to enter. This sweepstakes is not open to employees of FMWRC, USAA, Stars and Stripes, Armed Forces Recreation Centers, and their family members, or any other employees from companies that are providing prizes, products or services in conjunction with this sweepstakes.
4. Prizes:
a. Monthly Prize Winners: Ten (10) winners each month will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries from the current month as entered by the date and time listed in paragraph (2). Prizes will be awarded each month of the Great Getaways Sweepstakes. Prizes for the monthly Great Getaway Sweepstakes are as follow; ten (10) $100 cash prizes each month. Monthly cash prize winners will not be eligible to win future monthly drawings; however, all entries will be included in the grand prize drawing. b. The Grand Prize: The grand prize Great Getaway winner will be drawn from all eligible entries received over the three month Sweepstakes. The winner will receive a trip to his/her choice of one of the five AFRC resort destinations. The package includes $2500 cash for travel expenses, a set of luggage (approximate retail value (ARV) $500), a set of golf clubs (ARV $600); a Sony Digital Camera (ARV $300) and a seven night stay at the winner’s choice of available AFRC property (patronage restrictions may apply) (ARV $595). The total package approximate retail value is $4495. One (1) grand prize winner will be selected on or about June 4, 2009 from a random drawing from all eligible entries received by May 31, 2009 at 5 p.m. est. Costs of meals, ground transportation, and all other expenses not specified as part of the prize package are the sole responsibility of the winner. Prize may be subject to blackout periods, and other restrictions may apply.
5. Odds:
Odds of winning is determined by number of total entries submitted through the online sweepstakes and mail in options.
6. Winner notification and acceptance:
All potential winners will be notified by telephone and/or electronic email. Notification for the monthly sweepstakes will take place on or about five (5) days after the close of the entry period for the month. Notification of the grand prize will take place on or about June 4, 2009. Monthly and grand prize potential winners will have fourteen (14) days from the time of notice to claim their prize. Winners may waive their right to receive a prize. Prizes are non-assignable and non-transferrable. No substitutions allowed, except that prizes and individual components of prize packages are subject to availability and FMWRC reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. Winners are solely responsible for reporting and payment of any taxes on prizes. Potential winners will be required to complete an affidavit of eligibility, and a liability release. Failure to sign and return the affidavit or release within fourteen (14) days or to comply with any term or condition of these official rules may, at the sole discretion of FMWRC, result in a winner’s disqualification, and the award of the prize to an alternate winner. Participation in the sweepstakes constitutes an entrant’s consent to the publication of his or her name and image in any media, for any commercial or promotional purpose, without limitation or further compensation. A complete list of winners will be available online at www. afrcresorts.com upon completion of the Sweepstakes.
7. Participation:
Participation in the Sweepstakes constitutes an agreement by each contestant to comply with these official rules. In the event the Sweepstakes is compromised by cause beyond the reasonable control of FMWRC which corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper operation of the Sweepstakes, FMWRC reserves the right in its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Sweepstakes. Should the Sweepstakes be terminated prior to the slated expiration date, FMWRC reserves the right to award prizes based on the entries received before the termination date.
8. General Release:
By entering the Sweepstakes, contestants release FMWRC and any other promotional sponsor from any liability whatsoever for any claims, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Sweepstakes or with the acceptance, possession or use of any prize.
9. Sponsor:
The Great Getaway Sweepstakes is sponsored by FMWRC, whose decision regarding the selection of winners and all other aspects of the Sweepstakes shall be final and binding in all respects. FMWRC or its promotional sponsors will not be responsible for typographical, printing or other inadvertent errors in these official rules or in other materials relating to the Sweepstakes.
