Each of the 50 participating libraries offered local prizes—including a set of Kit Kittredge An American Girl books, bookmarks, and movie posters. Many added additional prizes such as American Girl dolls, and additional activities such as girl-doll look a like contests, parent-child tea parties, and other events to attract more young readers to their local library.
