The Army is the largest employer child-care program in the nation.
The Army serves more than 137,000 eligible children and youth (ages 4 weeks to 18 years old) daily at 125 locations in 28 states, the District of Columbia and nine different countries and territories. Needless to say CYS is a very large organization with a workforce made up of DoD civilians and spouses of military members. During the summer months college students and teens are employed as camp counselors participating in the Civilian Personnel Summer Hire Program.
